Leadership and Teambuilding
I have been on the Playwickian staff since the first day of my freshman year of high school. I earned my place as Graphics Editor that fall, and moved to a position of Arts & Entertainment Editor the following year. I have been the Editor-in-Chief of the Playwickian for two years, and am I panelist on the Courier Time's Reality Teen Panel. I was a Senior Editor on Neshaminy's literary magazine, the Howler, sophomore year. I was then Layout Editor in my junior year and am currently Layout Editor.
Workshops
I have presented several workshops to my staff over the years, in addition to presenting on both Native American mascot use and prior review at the 2017 Dallas JEA/NSPA convention. I will be attending the 2018 San Francisco JEA/NSPA convention as a panelist. To the left is a photo from the Dallas JEA/NSPA conference.
Programs
Pawpaw Press Workshops
A few years ago we hosted a workshop with a local elementary school's newspaper to help them learn about their trade. (I am not in the attached photos because I took them.)
Homecoming Fundraisers
Every year the Playwickian runs a stand at Neshaminy's homecoming football game. This year I arranged for us to sell Krispie Cream doughnuts. (I am not in the attached photos because I took them.)
Mary Beth Tinker Presentation
When a local middle school hosted Mary Beth Tinker as a speaker, we were excited to help out.
Scholastic Journalism Week
As a newspaper, we try to participate in Scholastic Journalism Week every year. In my Sophomore year, we ran a social media campaign and this year we ran a competition for our writers.
