Multimedia Broadcast

Although my student newspaper did not publish audio or video, this is a goal we have been moving towards for several years. The first step in this was a podcast of our football team's thanksgiving game by two now-graduated editors.

Despite this, we still work hard to appeal to all of a reader's senses. We employ literary techniques (imagery, simile, onomatopoeia, ect.) whenever we can fit it into a story appropriately and attach engaging photos and/or graphics to each story we publish. As for writing for the ear goes, my favorite piece of my own work for this is the article regarding the Yardley musician.

In addition to this, I have gained experience in multimedia broadcast beyond the realm of print journalism by working with the producers of the documentary The R-Word. In order to aid them, I have procured and filmed several interviews, mostly with other members of my staff. To the right is a trailer produced for the documentary, and below it is footage of an event our school calls Gym Night that was used for the Playwickian.

My staff and I are currently working on a video series covering a change in our school's administration, as our principal is being promoted and it has not yet been announced who will take his place. We also hope to do a small series on the question "what would you say to your freshman self."
